The MYB Travel League provides competitive baseball for players in 2nd through 8th grade (8U–14U) who are looking for a higher level of commitment, player development, and competition than traditional in-house play.

Travel League is an earned opportunity. Players participate in tryouts and have the opportunity to earn a roster spot on a team based on their skills and the needs of the program.

Our goal is simple: develop better baseball players and better people while giving kids the opportunity to compete, grow, and have fun.

MYB Travel Baseball emphasizes:

  • ⚾ Player development
  • 🤝 Teamwork
  • 🏆 Competition
  • ❤️ Sportsmanship
  • 🌱 Personal growth
  • 🏠 Community

The program is designed around a Players First philosophy, with an emphasis on safety, fairness, objectivity, accountability, and meaningful development.

What to Expect

The Travel League Program Guide provides a common reference for players, parents and guardians, coaches, and MYB. It explains how the program works, what families can expect, and what the program expects from its participants.

It may look like a lot at first. That's because we've taken years of experience and put it into writing.

The goal isn't to make Travel Baseball more complicated. The goal is clarity.

Not every situation can be anticipated in a written document, and some situations will require reasonable judgment. The program guide provides structure and consistency while allowing MYB and its coaches to make appropriate decisions based on the circumstances.

Who Can Play Travel League

MYB Travel League is available to players in 2nd through 8th grade, typically ages 8U through 14U.

Travel League is an earned opportunity. Players interested in participating must go through the MYB Travel League tryout and team selection process. Roster spots are determined based on player evaluations, team needs, grade, age eligibility, and applicable league requirements.

Players are generally grouped by grade first, with age eligibility also considered. In some situations, a player may be eligible to play at a different age level when permitted by the program and appropriate for the player.

Each player may be rostered on one MYB Travel League team for the season. There may be opportunities for an eligible player to help another MYB Travel League team when needed, but this does not change the player's primary roster.

For complete eligibility requirements, including age eligibility, playing up or down, residency requirements, and playing across MYB Travel Teams, please see the MYB Travel League Program Guide.

What to Expect from Travel League

Travel League provides additional opportunities for players who want to continue developing their skills and compete at a higher level.

Families participating in Travel League should expect a greater commitment than City League, including:

  • Regular team practices throughout the season
  • Games against other travel programs
  • Weekend tournaments during the season
  • Additional travel compared with City League
  • Player development opportunities throughout the year
  • Team and family responsibilities, including MYB volunteer requirements

The Travel League program generally begins with tryouts and team formation in the offseason, continues through preseason activities, and reaches its primary competition period during the summer months.

The exact schedule, practice locations, games, tournaments, and team activities will vary by age level and team.

For complete information about season structure, practices, games, tournaments, and program expectations, please see the MYB Travel League Program Guide.

Program Costs & Volunteer Requirements

MYB Travel League has its own registration, costs, and teams separate from the City League program.

There is no fee to try out for Travel League. Players who are offered and accept a Travel League roster spot will be responsible for the applicable Travel League fee associated with their roster level.

Travel League also relies on families to help support the program through volunteer opportunities. Families will be assigned volunteer requirements as part of the Travel League registration and offer process. These opportunities help MYB operate its home tournaments and keep program costs as reasonable as possible.

Additional details regarding Travel League fees, refunds, roster levels, volunteer requirements, and outstanding volunteer obligations are provided in the MYB Travel League Program Guide.

Mosinee Home Tournament

MYB hosts travel league tournament(s) each year based on the teams we are able to fill.
