Introducing the MYB Travel League Program Guide
Introducing the MYB Travel League Program Guide
Over the years, MYB Travel Baseball has developed a program built around competition, player development, sportsmanship, and creating a positive experience for our players and families. Many of the processes and expectations outlined in this guide have been part of how our Travel League has operated for years.
What is new is that we have taken those practices, expectations, and processes and put them into one place.
We recognize that this document may look a little more formal than some of the information MYB has shared in the past. With sections covering everything from tryouts and team formation to roster levels, playing opportunities, volunteer commitments, and dispute resolution, it can certainly feel like a lot to take in. The intent, however, is not to make Travel Baseball more complicated or create a program full of rules.
The goal is clarity.
This guide is intended to serve as a common reference for players, parents and guardians, coaches, and MYB. It explains what families can expect from the program, what the program expects from participants, and how common situations are handled. By putting these expectations in writing, we hope to reduce confusion, provide consistency from year to year, and make sure everyone has the same understanding of how our Travel League operates.
Not every situation can be anticipated in a written document, and there will always be circumstances that require reasonable judgment. This guide is therefore intended to provide structure and consistency while allowing MYB and its coaches to make appropriate decisions based on the circumstances.
Most importantly, this document does not represent a change in what MYB Travel Baseball is about. It represents our effort to clearly document what we have been doing and what we believe our players and families should be able to expect from the program.
We encourage families to use this guide as a resource throughout the season. Our hope is that having these expectations clearly documented will allow everyone to spend less time wondering how things work and more time enjoying the game, developing our players, and building a strong MYB baseball community.
